What can I expect at my fitting?
A caring, trained fit specialist will show you products which are available to you. In a private consultation, she will help you find the product which fits you and helps you to meet your goals and expectations. Your fitting will take about an hour because it is important to have a bra which is comfortable and fits properly.
How soon can I be fitted?
Your doctor will tell you when you can be fitted for a weighted prosthesis. When that happens, please ask for a prescription for your mastectomy products. In the meantime, we have lightweight puffs and soft unconstructed stretch bras which you can wear immediately after surgery.
How much does a breast form cost? Is it covered by insurance?
Silicone gel breast forms can cost between $240 and $340, depending on the style and manufacturer. Insurance coverage varies, but Medicare and many private insurance companies typically pay a portion if not all of the cost of the prosthesis and two surgical bras. Our staff will be glad to assist you in filling out your claim forms. It has been our experience that Medicare along with most private insurance companies offering this coverage will allow replacement forms after two years or for medical necessity.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes, Medicare requires that we have a doctor’s prescription in hand before any products can be dispensed.
